New Blog Home!

Hello friends. I am so sorry you have been so neglected on this little blog. And just when we were all starting to get to know each other!

Well, I have good news... Dishie will be re-launching on a real, permanent, amazing home SOON! This has taken a lot longer than I anticipated, but we should be back up and running by June. I'll update you with the new web address when it's live. Meanwhile, soak up your summer. I'm off to wander around & buy lots of flowers with my handbag and my hat. See you soon!

Parties with my Friends

So sorry for the blog silence my friends. I've been going crazy trying to produce two parties in one week and prepare for out of town guests. I just love having friends over! The picture above is me and friends last weekend at our picnic. Just kidding. Wouldn't a dress up tea party be so much fun though? Let's add that to the future party list. I'll have picture evidence of actual parties including a Valentine's Progressive Dinner and Brunch for 12 up soon! Hope you're enjoying your weekend!

Celebrate: Groundhog Day

This Groundhog Day recipe has become an annual tradition in our house. The hearty ground beef in the chili is guaranteed to keep you warm, whether Punxsutawney Phil sees his shadow or not. In fact, if he'd had a nibble of this before he went outside, the outcome may have been different today!

Lovely Brunch Tablescape

This week is off to a very busy start! I wish I had the time to stop at this pretty in pink table and have brunch with all of my friends. Doesn't it look so tranquil? The brass candlestick with different pink candles & the overflowing blossoms are so inviting. This looks like a table prepared for best friends to gather around. Wish it was me!

Tools of the Trade: Copper Pots

There is something about copper pots that is so striking to me. Maybe it's their heirloom quality or the patina they acquire over time. They strike me as the tool of an experienced cook, not someone like me who frequently forgets she's left her dinner to burn on the stove.

Anthropologie Kitchen Towels

If you've been married for more than six months, it's probably time to update your kitchen towels. This is a purchase I tend to put off in favor of more romantic buys. But, have you ever seen more gorgeous options than these from Anthropologie?! They could brighten and change the look of any kitchen. Browse their collection here. They almost make doing dishes bearable.

Atlanta Gift Mart : Things I loved!!

Inspiration and beauty surrounded us at every step but there were a few things that I couldn't get out of my mind. Below are some of the things that I really LOVED.

Isn't this desk just beyond? I like to pretend that I'm craftier than I actually am & this desk would help me continue to pretend that I sew, knit & create every day.

Dreamy!! This would be so lovely in our master bedroom. Can you just imagine how darling all of our plates would look displayed on it? I would also fill it with cozy throws, flickering candles & plump extra pillows. Sigh, I can't wait to go back!

Atlanta Gift Market

Who enjoyed Market? ?

Atlanta Gift Market was a whirlwind, to put it mildly. Four buildings with thousands of stores in each. I consider myself an expert shopper but this was a stretch even for me. There were posted signs saying "No Photography" which is why I only have a few (ok like 2) pictures.

Every time I pulled out my iPhone to snap a picture, I envisioned policeman running to handcuff me. {I can have a flair for the dramatic.}

By the last day, I ventured a little rule breaking bravery. Baby steps, people!

This window display caught my eye. Notice the subtle nod to navajo with rustic and turquoise accents. Pretty!
Moving on to something a little less subtle:

On Sunday we had a little break in the form of the Marching Abominables. They are a costumed bunch of crazies who took the escalators up and down the different levels playing oldies. Somehow I didn't mind taking tons of pictures of them. If you follow me on twitter you probably saw more than you ever needed to of these creative musicians. : )
To summarize: I loved Atlanta Gift Mart. It was a wonderful, exhausting working vacation. The highlight for me was attended workshops hosted by with Habitually Chic, Dwell Studio & Apartment Therapy. I'll do a review of those later this week!
